Breakfast smoothies are such a refreshing and light breakfast that I think more people should be drinking. And I have only recently become addicted to them. I used to be a big fan of having a “big breakfast” to fill me up for most of the day. But a lot of the times, my big breakfast consisted of things like waffles or chocolate chip pancakes and lot of other foods that are not necessarily nutritious and timely to make.
Smoothies are a great quick on-the-go breakfast and I am going to share my favorite go-to smoothie with you. And there are no measurements!
Ingredients:
- Your favorite greens (I like to mix kale and spinach)
- Frozen Mango and Pineapple
- Oat Milk
- Chia seeds
- Ginger (1 slice)
- 1 ripe banana
How I like to make my smoothie is by starting with a little bit of Oat milk with a handful of either kale or spinach. I then blend those two together until the greens are no longer solid.
I then add a second handful of greens. I personally like to use a different type of leafy vegetable. For example if for my first handful I used spinach, then my second handful I would use Kale. After everything is blended, I then add a whole banana and blend that really well. Next I blend the chia seeds and any protein/collagen powders that I have. Blend.
Lastly, I add the frozen fruits a little bit at a time and blend, and then I add some more, until either the smoothies reaches the consistency that I like or until the cup is too full to add anymore fruit. And walaaa!
